Yaquina is suffering the mis fortune of having no meat market at present. P. Wright and family of Mc Minnville are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Toner. The army worm has taken pity on us and will leave us a small part of the gardens. Mr. Bennett and family of Port land are with Mrs. Bennett's sister, Mrs. R.ose Abbey. A. B. Clark has manufactured a side-wheel boat that is a success for the kind of power used. Arthur Rochester writes to M W. Simpson that he has found the real thing at Cape Nome a bilk. II. Whi'e going along the beach between SUetz and Salmon rivers a wave struck them and threw boys, fish and everything into the ocean. The horses struck the rocks and received some bruises. The wagon was upset, the coupling pole and brake broken and the box floated off. They gained the beach , caught the wagon box, floated it out and managed to recover 17 fish, while the rost floated just out of reach. Had the tide heeu coming in they would have got more, but they were afraid to venture farther.
