John Ilewett of Nortons had business at the county seat Tuesday. Captain Henry Nice of Waldport was a passenger valleyward this morning. Mrs C. G. Copeland, the Siletz merchant, caiue over on business yesterday. James Fleming arrived Tuesday night from Corvallis. He has one end of a case in circuit court. Agent William Buoy went out to Albauy this morning. Mrs L. M. Starr 'tends store during his absence. All the mackintoshes now in the White House stock will be sold at cost. Come while the bargains last. il. Lewis. L. Osness and family, who left here a few months ago and located at Silverton, returned Saturday night and are again settled in their home on the Olalla. Mr. Osness doesn't think Silverton is in any respect as desirable for a home as Toledo and vicinity. Coming to Oregon, says the Eu gene Guard: "Five gentleman from South Dakota, who have been looking at the country, left for thier ' homes "Today. They say they intend selling out in Dakota and removing to Oregon. They think t his a grand country," There are indications of a heavy immigra tion into Oregon from several of the states east cf us. Notice to Voters. All voters in the county are re quired to register on or before tbe 15th day of May, 1900, in order to be qualified to vote. Registration may be made before the county clerk or before a notary public or jtsslice of the peace. All natural ized citizens must exhibit their naturalization papers to the regis tering officer; those unable to sign their name and mark their ballots must have two witnesses present at registration.
