Surprie is expressed when a change occurs in any portion of our environments, yet it is but the inevitable result of the laws of nature and must be ex pected. We have collected and published the 1nc.il happenings in these columns for nearly a year. During, that time we have earnestly tried to give all the news to you authentically and in newsy form. We have treated all people, parties and creeds fairly as we understood. They, in return, have so treated us and now as we turn our daily work over into other hands it is with a sensation of sadness,' which we be- ieve none but rewsgathers ex- penance. As we clirut) down trom the editorial tripod tears do not dim our eyes, but they do a most. Thanking sincerely one and all who have kindlv assisted us in our work we wish our entire family of readers an earnest Bon Voyage, on thj sea of Life, hoping you all har bor only kindly feelings toward Old Man Leader. W. L. Davis. In assuming, for a time at least, the management and editorial care of the Leader, we have but little to say. We are not wholly unknown to the Leader readers, having been connected with the paper in some capacity for the greater part of its existence.
