IJell mul Hewitts of Tnconin, Organize Coos Bay Ry. nnd Terminal Co. Articles of incorporation were filed today in the office of County Clerk James Watson for the Coos Day Railway and Terminal Company, a corporation organized under the laws of the state of Washington. The company is incorporated with $250, 000 capital and with the "close cor poration" provision that no stock can bo held by any other than the incor porators who are: President Henry Hewitt, Jr.; vice-president, L. J. Simpson; secretary, J. J. Hewitt; assistant-secretary, Henry Hewitt 111; treasurer and manager, Seymour H. Boll. Tho company Is Incorporated for a period of fifty years with the powers of building and operating steam and electric railways, etc., and the principal offices are in Tacoma but the company may own and oper ate properties in other states. , The company is the organization J with which Mr. Bell, who is manager ' of the Coos Bay Gas and Electric Co., is to build his proposed electric line from Sunset Bay or some point south of Empire around the coast lino of tho Coos Bay peninsula through North Bend and Marshfleld to Mlll-lngton. iv Official of W. There was only $3000 Insurance on the planer and the loss is heavy on the owners. Origin of the fire is unknown. The 1 closing down of tho planing mill will ' j throw quite a number of men out of f k employment. ( ROESSLEH TO LEAVE. ARCHBISHOP FARLEY OF NEW YORK. In the great Catholic celebration which marked the centenary of tho founding of the diocese of New York Archbishop Parley was the central figure. He entertained the visiting clergymen and reviewed the grand parade, which was the climax of the week. Mgr. Farley was born in County Armagh, Ireland, In 1842, and was ordnlned in Rome in 1870. Ho is tho author of several books on religious and historical subjects. of Engineer Will Retire as Head U. S. Pacific Coast Work. PORTLAND, July 13. Major James F. Mclndoro, U. S. A., who will succeed Colonel Roessler as the ? head of tho local U. S. engineering office, arrived in tho city Thursday from Now Orleans. Ho will assume chargo next Saturday, Colonel Roess ler leaving the city Sunday to take up his new duties at Newport, R. I. Major fclclndore has been in charge of defense and improvement work along the Gulf Coast and Southern Louisiana and Texas Rivers, the ".levee work along tho Mississippi from Warrenton to tho head of the b Passes, and tho Red River. Ho was also a member of the board of engin eer officers that have chargo of re pairing the levees of the Mississippi.
