NEW BOAT BETWEEN EUREKA AND COOS BAY Traveling Man Reports That Regular Lino of Communication Between Coast Cities Will Be Kstab llshcil. W. W. Case, traveling representa tive of the wholesale paper houso of Bonestell, Richardson & Co., of San Francisco, is in Marshfield today making his first trip in the Coos Bay country in tho interests of his company. Mr. Case made tho trip to Coos Bay by way of the roundJ about route of Eureka and Astoria, Tho only method of reaching here from Eureka being to return to San Francisco or as he made It going to Astoria and returning on tho Alli ance. While in Eureka Mr. Cade" learned that the new steamer which is to make stops at Eureka and Coos Bay will bo put on the regular run sometime within tho next few weoks. He stated that tho people of Euroka were anxiously awaiting this closer lino of commercial connection with Coos Bay and a good business for the now steamer Is expected from the start. t Mr. Case is being piloted on his initial trip by A. R. Olsson, (with tw.o letter S, if you please, Mr. Llno typer,) a fellow angel of commerce who represents tho Diamond Rubbqr Co., of Akron, Ohio. Mr. Olsson handles all kinds of rubber except the kind that goes into rubber necks. Both travelers aro more than favor ably impressed with tho C003 Bay cities which will bo made regularly hereafter. KEZSESSSE tt I023I5GS7 It happened last night. Tho North Bend commercial club Invited some of tho members of the Mllllcoina club to a sort of Informal affair in tho North Bend club rooms. A number accepted and took ono of Kelly's boats, about 8 o'clock for tho sceno of festivities. It was at North Bend dock when ono "Stovo Brodio" mis took space for tho wharf and des cended In rapid flight into tho cool waters of tho bay and thence down ward to the mud. Ho made tho round trip In good time. Somewhere between tho surfaco and tho mud bottom, however, ho became wet. Ho was still in that condition on his re turn to tho surface. Ho shot up between Kelly's boat and tho wharf and with tho nld of his friends' wil ing hands ho placed his feet on solid ground again. "Stovo" was taken to "Bill" Smith's rooms whero tho latter kindly donated ono of his No, 40 English walking suits. "Stevo" wears a "long" No. 3G, being about as tall as his friend is fat. However, after donning tho suit Stevo nnd tho rest of his friends carried out tho evening's program nnd report 11 pleasant evening at tho North Bend Commercial club. Charles Russoll, a workman em ployed on tho new dock being built at tho Smith mill mot with a slight but painful accident yestorday after noon, whllo working on tho end of a looso plank which was stoadlod by, n workman on tho other end also at work; tho laborer at tho opposlto end stepped off and tho plank teet ered throwing Mr. Rus30ll eight feet luto tho waters of tho bay. Beneath ,tho surfaco of the waters his jaw struck somo obstruction inflicting n painful but not dangerous injury. Mr. Russell, who will bo laid up for Bomo time donles that ho is in train ing to meot Potorson, but says if that pugilist can land on tho Jaw a blow llko ho received ho would bo sorry for tho other follow.
