When Albany becomes the center of a traffic between the East and the Pacific, and San Francisco and Portland, a distributing point, as it were, we may look for good sued results. O The M A. T. suggests that the act of the Lefadature of two years ago in reference to bicycles, be repealed. It Is a disgrace to our statute books has been the subject of joke through the East, is unconstitutional, a dead letter, and should receive a "header."' O The M. A. W. Saunders to Salem, where he turned him over to Sheriff Minto, who will keep him in the Marion county jail until called for. The reason for the action was the re fusal of the Count vCommiskioners to furnish a guard at the jail any longer, the Sheriff deeming it unsafe to run the risk of keeping him here without a guard. The expense will be the same as if kept here. Coder the circumstances, and other circumstances not necessary to relate, the Sheriff did entirely proper. The Linn county jail is not a if'e one in which to keep a desperate without a guard. criminal aaffa o Last Saturday morning Jas. W.
