days. He and his associate have
obtained a franchise to operate a
street railway from Linnton to
Portland, and now they are ask
ing the city to grant a franchise
to get into the city. The fran
chise committee has reported fa
vorably. Schaefer is well known
in Hillsboro where he lived sever
al years ago.
