Clark, driver of the road roller for the county out North, found that his wrist hone- was broken and that one of the hones in his hand was fractured ns the result of attempting to crank a Ford, mention of which was made lust week. At first blush he thought he had merely sprained his wrist, but the X-ray, a few days Inter, showed thnt he was tip Our of the lit t lir .t meeting of the yrar wa lirl.l by the IMLb't ro Club at the weekly luncheon at the Washington Hotel, Mon day afternoon, and the attend ance wa greater than it ha been for ome wt-rk. There was no -hnirman presiding, a none had Men apfHiintrd, but this did not litrr the gentlemen front taking up public issues and discussing tin m to thr limit. M. H. Steven son brought up the matter of keeping the rity residence sec tion beautiful, and laid that the water question wa one of vital imnirancr, a irrigation, and ilenty of it, meant green lawn. Mayor Shute kaid that the restric tion on water made the keeping of lawn green a hardship, and contended that if one could irri gate daily that the trouble would rlimiuated. Mr. Hare said the ity had filed on a water right in the mountain and that a Forest Grove hid made it water vte-i pay, llillsboro might install a .Vktcm and make it pay, and that the $2,000 per year paid for fire service would go a long way to ward helping oat a municipal plant. Mr. Easter said that the pipe ine running down from Sain was too small to permit of the rntire residence district using water at one and the same time, because this would mean no pressure with all faucet open. He said that the main was too small, and that it wa not a matter of scarcity of water as the Sain Creek supply was large enough to supply the territory involved, and then some Mayor Shute stated that there was a possibility unless tue water question wa solved in the near future that llillsboro, Cornelius and Beaverton, with North Plains and Orenco, would go In together and finance a system that would he efficient each and every day of the vcar. Mayor Shute asked the club members and business men to come up to the council meetings and give the administrative body their support. It developed that the placing of the toilets on the city park next to the highway, was opposed by some under the Impression that next to the highway was not the proper place. On the other hand some thought that this was the place, and with proper out lines and care, there could be nothing unsightly about the per golas. POTATOES WANTED An inquiry from C. C.
