At least one property-owner on the Peninsula has unbounded faith In the future of Portland, and has elevated the price of some lots In that district 300 per cent since the election of McKlnlej- and Roosevelt. He advertised four lots on the Peninsula for 525 each, or all four for $100. before the lection. His offer attracted the atten tion of a would-be buyer, who answered t once. In the meantime, the election was over and he raised the price to $108 for each lot. or $400 for the four. He said that the Portland Railway Is going to build a railway to St. John and the O. R. & N. Co. will build a switch down there, Desldes. "Wolff & Zwlcker will start a big shipyard, and, above all, McKlnley and weeveit are elected. Hurrt-Up Piano Seluno. An alarm from box 59 at 8.45 last evening was the result of a chimney fire in a residence on Mont gomery street, near Seventh.
