Homebuying Help in Gresham Some low and moderate in- come Individuals or families in Gresham may qualify for first-time homebuying help. “Welcome Home,” is a limited new program that provides no-interest loans to people who live in Gresham and buy a home in Gresham. Eligibility is limited to people making 80 percent or less of federal annual median income, or $55,000 or less for a family of four. The loans can range from $10,000 to $20,000, depend- ing on financial need. If the person or family remains in their home for 15 years, the loan balance is forgiv- en. The city will fund about 8 to 10 loans through the program this year and another 5 to 7 loans proposed for next year. “City leaders recognize that many families continue to struggle financially to get - or keep - their homes and have made helping home- buyers a priority,” Gresham Community Development Di- rector Eric Schmidt said.
