Beyonce turned out to be the queen o f the ball, tying a record for fe male artists with her five awards. But she won none o f the top cat egories o f song, record or album o f the year. T he moody British rock band Coldplay, up against four hip-hop nom inees for record o f the year, won for their song "C locks.” Rockers Evanescence won best new artist in an upset over rapper 50 Cent - w ho briefly w alked onstage as E v an escen ce accep ted th eir award. Black History Month Films at MHCC In honor of Black History Month, Mt. Hood Community C o lle g e 's G e o g ra p h y and Criminal Justice departments will be showing two films. “ In Remembrance of M ar tin,” a PBS documentary hon oring the life o f Martin Luther King Jr. and the civil rights movement will be shown on Tuesday, Feb. 17 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 1553. “Separate But Equal," a film detailing theevents leading up to the U. S. Supreme Court decision outlawing segrega tion, will be presented on Tues day, Feb. 17, from 6 :3 0 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Room 1309.
