The C onstruction M anager will co ordinate bidding and repre sent PDC during construction and close-out phases of the project. The C onstruction M anager will advise PDC on issues of cost, scheduling, and overall im plem entation of the project. The Construction M anager will hold regular job m eetings with the general contractor and construction team and will report to a joint m anagem ent team of PPR and PDC Staff. A significant portion of the project consists of a floating w alkw ay intended prim arily for bicycles and pedestrians. The w alkw ay is made up of articulated gangw ays, and a prefabricated dock system . It will begin at a point near the Steel Bridge and term inate just south of the B urnside Bridge. The rem ainder of the work is prim arily bank stabilization, paving, and landscape construction. Bidding for this project is expected to o ccur in early sum m er 1998, and construction is expected to last from fall of 1998 to su m m e ro f 1999.
