This fam ily cam p isdesigned to provide both education and practice in developing strategies for cultivat ing peacem aking skills in the family. The presenters for this y ear’s cam p will be Jim and Kathy McGinnis, and Steve Sanchez. T he M cG innis’ are the founders and coordinators of the Parenting for Peace and Justice N ew tw ork — an interfaith, interra cial, international association of fam i lies seeking peace and justice. They are the authors o f several books in cluding C hristian Parenting for Peace and Justice Program G uide, and H elp ing Teens Care. Steve Sanchez is a professional Youth M inister, skilled in music and story telling. The fam ily cam p will begin on Thursday, June 30, with an evening o f music, stories, and cam pfire. Pre sentations for the weekend will in clude “Peace Begins at H om e,” in volving family conflictresolution and decision making, and “Solidarity with th e P o o r ,” c o n c e rn in g fa m ily lifestyles.
