R unning June 24-26 in dow n town B eav erto n ’s G riffith Park, the fam ily-oriented Taste is a sanctioned Portland R ose Festival Association event and the perfect closer for the m onth-long R ose Festival. The three day event will feature the best o f B eaverton restaurants, lo cal wine m akers and live entertain m ent for all ages. The T aste w ill end each night with the sp ectacular “ N ightglow ,” an unforgettable display o f colorful hot air balloons that light up the sum m er night sky. A dm ission is still only $2 for advance tickets (S3 day o f event) with children six an d under free. Food and m usic lovers attending Henry W ein h ard ’s A Taste o f Bea verton will find lots to like this year. They can sam ple the best of the Pavillion Bar and Grill, Tony Romas, Fuddruckers, La C asa Real, A nzen’s Oriental Deli, C h ili’s Southwestern G rill & B ar an d m any m ore o f B eaverton’s top restaurants. Henry W einhard’s, the N orth w e st W in e C lu b P a v ilio n and Buckm asterG ourm et Coffee will pro vide a full range o f beverages to com plim ent the food. The entertainm ent will be a good as the food. Throughout the three days, nearly 50 perform ing artists will appear on three different sponsor stages. Past performers have included Tom Grant, The Woody Hit Big Band, the legendary British rocker Erick B urdon, C urtis Salgado, B il ly Preston and A1 Stewart. .. .. The dates of the Fair are August 25 through September 5. Musicians and other amateur performers wishing to be considered for this year’s stage should contact the Oregon State Fair at 503/378-3247 and ask for an application. A photo graph, and in case of musical acts, a becom e the city’s signature event. It benefits W ashington County Special O lym pics, Care to Share, C ontinued Education for Young Par ents, and the Beaverton Arts C om mission.
