Slowly but surely. Rockmaster s style is becoming known city wide, and many hard core downtowners can be seen among the Saturday night crowd at the Tippm Inn. The Rockmaster is a true artist in more ways than one Most of the clothes that he wears are designed and made by himself He is also an accomplished percussionist and drummer and has played with local masters like Ktone and Bruce Smith. Rockmaster states that his knowledge of music from the technical standpoint has helped him develop the style of his disc jockeying "M andela" Producer Hosts South African W om en's Day Celebration On Saturday, August 9. 1986, Peter Davis, the award winning producer of the film Mandela.' will host a public discussion and presentation of his film. The film screening and discussion will be held at 7 00 p.m. at the Mt Olivet Baptist Church, 116 N E. Schuyler IN E 1st and Broadway). Peter Davis' Portland appearance with his film will be held in honor of South Africa Women's Day The event is sponsored by the Oregon Ram bow Coalition, the Media Project and the American Friends Service Committee Southern Africa Project Admission is free donations encour aged Proceeds from the event will benefit the anti apartheid activities of the American Friends Service Committee Southern Africa Project and the Rainbow Coalition.
