Doing It All Night Since bursting upon the scene like a supernova fo u r years ago, S tar- point has built a growing legion o f fans who keep wanting more from this talented six-piece act. Starpoint should keep those fans and many others singing and dancing, as the L P ’s title says, A ll Night l ong. the bright new light that Starpoint brings to today's music scene. Four o f Starpoint *s six members are b ro th e rs — E rn es to , O rla n d o , Greg and George Phillips— who dis covered th eir m u tu al passion fo r music at an early age growing up in Baltimore. As teenagers, they joined Starpoint offers the perfect party on a platter with A ll N ig ht Long— a captivating mix o f snappy funk and dance tunes and heartwarming bal ladry. Be it body-shaking songs like “ Get Your Body U p ,” " I Like I t , " and "Show M e ," or the sweetly ro m an tic ballads lik e " A l l N ig h t force» w ith p s rtu s s io u is l K ayode Adeyem o, a kindred musical spirit who brings to the band his wealth of influences from living in such fa r- flung locales as Barbados, Nigeria, and M ichigan. W ith the joining o f vocalist Renee Diggs, the lin e-u p was complete. L o n g ," (which features a vocal tour de force by Renee Diggs) and " I t ’ s Y o u ,” A ll Night Long, is filled with ferocious and h ea rtfe lt m usician- ship, and should fu rth e r intensify The six o f them formed a series o f popular bands playing the Washing ton-Baltim ore district. First known as L y c in d ia n a when they started performing in 1972, the group built a follo w in g up and down the East Coast, as well as doing assorted ses sion work for M otow n and A ll Plat inum Records. In 1978, the group became S ta rp o in t, and w ith th eir sharpened ensemble skills in hand, signed w ith C asablan ca Records. Starpoint hit big out o f the box with th eir firs t single. " I Just W an na Dance W ith Y o u ,” from their self- title d firs t a lb u m , gen erating yet another hit w ith the title track o f their second L P .
