City Officials Secure Snffiolent Funds to Begin Construction of Pacific Interior Railway. GRANTS PASS, Or.. Jan. 2. (Spe cial.) Today was sot aside as the time for beginnlntr actual construction work on the Facliic Interior Railway. The City Council has necured immediate available cash with which to start work, and the auditor and police judjre have been authorized to advertise for sealed proposals for the sale of the $200,000 bond issue. These bonds will run from 20 to 30 years with option to retire them at the end of five years. They will bear interest at the rate of 6 per cent and will not be sold below par. A committee of the Council with the Mayor as ex-officio chairman will act In conjunction with the directors of the Pacific Interior Company in handling the funds. The first camp to be established will be on Allen Creek, a. short distance southwest of the city. Engineer Harmon states that it is not likely thnt any steel or ties will be laid until six miles of grading- has been completed.
