A peddler bought - lot of 84 crates of spoiled fruit for S2.S0, threw awsy the berries and then sold the crates at S cents each, clearing $1.50 on the transaction. In Montana the price for average medium wools has been established at 20 cents, while from H to 1 cent bcter has been paid for exceptionally good clips, saj- the Boston Commercial Bulletin. These wools csn hard ly cost much less than BO centa laid down Boston, If Indeed they will not exceed that cost. Jn two Instances growers In Mon tana are said to have refused 21 cents for their clips, although It Is extremely doubt ful If this price has been exceeded. It Is estimated that the ownership of rather more than a third and less than a half of the .Montana clip has been transferred from rowers' to dealers hands at this writing. Cattle Sell at Wide Range of Prices, Owing to Difference In Quality. Sheep Steady. There was a fairly good supply of hogs at the ysrds yesterday and a good run of cattle, but the sheep offerings were iigxn.e.r than usual, Th cattle market was In -good shape, but there waa a wide range In the pricea paid, owing to the difference In qualltr. Steers sold from 85.10 to 87, with the bulk of sales at 89.50 to J ft. 00. Cows, heifers, bulls and stags were taken at former quotations. A load of prime hogs was sold at 87.80 and heavy weights at th customary figures. Good lambs were steady at sa. to, wemc sold at 8X50 and mixed sheep at the same price. n .
