Money Ileitis Plenty, Fcltrlea Were a Quite General Holldny Present Neck Pieces Varied and Stylish as Ever Furs for Trlmmlnits. New York correspondence! QUESTIONS that existed a month njro nhout fashions in furs hare been nnmvercd by hull day purchnslng. STILUS Ul 1UIS WV1U so numerous nt Christmas and New Year's that fash ions in peltry now may be studied with entire safety from outdoor wear ers, rather thnn, as in early December, from the furriers' bIiow rooms. Noth ing radical is dis closed, though a few minor dinning are notleenble. As first put forward the rule was for dark furs in tho street, with whlto and light colored ones Indoors. In general this still holds, but a deal of cr jnino is seen In street ect-ups, often in showy rovers and collars. Indoors moro of ermine is seen, and n deal of miniver appears here, too. Coats arc as varied m SETTLED ON AS DEYOND OIUTIOISM. as early in tho winter, nud long nnd three quarter coats, jackets und etotiH now aro equally stylish unless It 1h that tho three quarter gurmeut is most approved for carriage wear. Neck pieces arc as varied as ever, and as stylish, but this last applies only to the better grades. Thero la offered a tre mendous quantity of inferior neck pieces, and muny others of n fair quality, but too mall for present standurds. Long, thick bons, preferably of black bear, or wholo animals, like the blue fox the artist litis pictured here, aro the really stylish forms. Muffs are large, and plain or trimmed showily with laco or tails. Muff and coat match if tho latter Isn't trim med with another fur; then trimming and muff are the stime. Thus in tho three-q-isrter coat of Persian lamb sketched here, muff, rovers nnd collar weru chin chilla. Itusslan sable is as flue, ns costly and as stylish as a year ago, yet so much of It is now worn by fashionable women that they may shift to something else by another winter. Perhaps sealskin may bo revived to replace it. A handsome NEW BODICE cape of Itussiau sable appears in the gTOup, and In the initial Is a Jacket of mink, the other fur that is keeping a seal in the background. Tho liking for fur trimmings has in creased, and less and less departure U made in it from bauds. Handsome tailor costumes may have a band at the foot of the skirt, or tho Jacket may be fin ished with fur rovers and collar. Even ing gowns and dressy gowus for aftcr- noon and reception wear show either a touch of fur trimming or gorgeous ar rangements of it. The latest fur hats are trimmed with n knot of lace or delicate colored panne vel vet, and with tlowers. Felt, lace or tulle hats with fur its trimming arc continued. Animals' heads aro not used unless the whole animal U employed. Miniver and ermine are conspicuous furs for millinery purposes. Fancy walsta for theater nnd dressy wear appear with velvet or handsumo cloth skirts and are in richly colored taffetas, black and white silks and baud some soft velvets. All qualities of velvet will be worn until well Into the spring. Waists of sheer materials are many. Gauzes nud chllTons In anemone, blush rose and zalen are most artistically col ored. Hose In all Its numerous tints Is fashionable for waists of these materials. They must be made over white to bring out the hues to the best advantage. Laco Is used, but not in great quantities, and esru is the popular shade. Persian trim mings are fashionable, as well as oriental stuffs. Tucking and shirring are used a great dent In soft materials, while striped and figured silks, satins and velvets are made up rather plainly to show off the pnttcrn of tho goods to good advantage. The waist line Is not as far down ns last season, conforming more to nature. This Is a welcome chauge. Simple tailor shirt waists of plaid and checked silks are shown in tho spring models. Shirt waists for ordinary wear arc of soft cloths nnd challlcs. Wash taffetas, corded Japanese nnd wash silks aro also shown for next season. Uoth colorings ami quality of materials arc no ticeably rich and fine. Many of the new silks are gorgeous und very striking. Large, medium or small puttcrns may be obtaldcd, as may suit tho tuste. All aro used for dressy and plain walsta and mako up handsomely. Tho artist puts hero two pretty selections from tho new bodices. The left bund ono was pink and gray drestlen silk, and was striped with miniver. Yoke and collar of gath ered chiffon, and waistcoat and cuffs of white sntln embroidered in green and gold. The other bodice was roso pink gauze over white taffeta. Its yoko and collar wore cream all-over lace, with ruf fle of tho gauze. A pretty black velvet garniture finished it. Illnck and white ae a combination Is continued in tho now waists, and among them aro handsome black oneu. Postilion backs are shorter than during tho fall. Embroidered fronts are not shown and will probably uot be worn. Fichus, bretellcs und rullles aro put on tiie new models. In addition to simple fichus of frilled white chiffon, which al ways retain a certain stylishness, there arc charming now designs that show FASHIONS. ' pyramid additions of colored embroidery t mingling with the lace. Pretty new white mousseune scarfs have the ends embroid ered in a point alternating with colored mousseline flowers heading a pleating of moussellne. Some of the most fashlouable mid-winter bats aro composed entirely of holly and ivy. They are usually made of tulle with the berriea tcke4 on. TACOMA, WASH, ADVERTISINB. R.
