Button, of Hood Klver, who Is a Sanatorium patient, has been divid ing his time today between drinking mineral wnter and delivering tive mlnute talks on the merits of Hood Klver as an apple-growing section. Mr. Button not only has the data at hand, but he also has the apples Yesterday he received n shipment of Hood Klver apples, and since their arrival the patieuts have each been presented with a sample. Hood Klver Is therefore a much talked about place here Just now. Mr. But ton says he could not afford to let the opportunity pass of demonstrat ing the virtues of Hood Klver apples to tlie two hundred patients, repre senting more than a dozen states, so he simply wired for the stock of ap ples. According to Mr. Button, ap ples and rheumatism make a good combination, eseclally when the patients are all getting better and the applet) are the liest ever. Britten were married on Wednesday evening at the parson age of the Christian church by Kev. T. S. Handsaker. The wedding was a ijuiet one, the only a I tendant being; Mr. Albert Crocker. Mrs. Lowery Is a former resident of Webb City. Missouri, and arrived here but a short time before the wedding. The whole affair centers around the good old custom of buying ami sending valentines as proposed by that beloved saint of olden times, yclept St. Valentine. Odd Fellows' hall will Ik- trans formed into the iialnt old village of Valentine, bringing us back to the time of (ieorge Washington and his kind. The village will have Its Inn, Its bauk, its postolllce, Its many shops, its village green. Two rival Valentine Shops will provide hearts of all sizes ami shapes, m it h all kinds of sent i merits t hereon, whet her sweet or not.
