'A I THE HOOD RIVER NEWS, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 25, 1911 8 r I it I pi I u Artt BJ BS" B31 tiH'iirfiCI WE WISH to announce that commencing: February the Second we will open up as a CASH GROCERY. We are going: to take off our delivery wagon and cut out our credit department and conduct our business on a strictly cash basis. We will mark our prices down so as to give our customers what it now costs us to collect accounts and run our delivery. By this plan we will eliminate all loss from lost accounts and slow collections and be able to mark prices down to a point where it will save you money. You must remember that in a credit business your good money has to pay for the slow collections and lost accounts. We will arrange to deliver in town but will charge actual cost of delivery with each order. WE WILL BE CLOSED ALL DAY WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY THE FIRST, TO REARRANGE STOCK AND CUT DOWN PRICES, WATCH NEXT WEEK'S PAPERS FOR BARGAINS IN GROCERIES. it it u u n n & n U m u YOURS FOR BUSINESS mm tfVfc THIRD AND OAK $262,700.00 Wort) of Land fold during the past year by W. WASHINGTON TO HAVE FIVE CONGRESSMEN One of the problems of the present l"glxlature of Washington to solve Is the redisricting of the state. The new apportionment will provide fur five congressmen, to which the state Is entitled as a result of the 1 1)10 cen sus. The tentative plans allot one representative to Klngcounty, which Is virtually Seattle. Tacoma and Spokane will remain the centers of two more districts. The two new units will be formed, one out of the extreme northwest counties, along Puget Sound; the other out of the a. nit hern row of counties. There Is an unusual amount of Interest In this "gerrymander. I he new illstrlcts will nut choose representatives, at i all events, until the general election of 11)12. i A COMPLETE LINE OF ti honest Goods ..AT..
