Stranahan, prominent pio neer renldent of Hood Klver wa found dead In lied yesterday morn ing by hi wife, who made the dl covery when nhe went to awaken him. The death of Mr. Stranahan came an a nhock to hi many friend an he had been about town Monday and seemed to be in hi usual health. The cauxe of death In thought to have been heart failure. Mr. Stranahan wan 71 yearn of age having lieen born March 2, 1CS. He came to Oregon In 177. taking up the occupation of boat builder. Af terward he wan connected with the navigation companien on the Colum bia river. lienide hi wife he I survived by three brother, C. H. Stranahan, of Hood Klver, W. (J. and H. M. Carnen, the well known deutlnt, died at ldn residence here Wednesday, January 5th, aged :!!) year. Dr. Caruen had been In bad health for nome time and about two week ago became confined to bin home.
