found dead In lied yesterday morn
ing by hi wife, who made the dl
covery when nhe went to awaken
him. The death of Mr. Stranahan
came an a nhock to hi many friend
an he had been about town Monday
and seemed to be in hi usual health.
The cauxe of death In thought to
have been heart failure.
Mr. Stranahan wan 71 yearn of age
having lieen born March 2, 1CS. He
came to Oregon In 177. taking up
the occupation of boat builder. Af
terward he wan connected with the
navigation companien on the Colum
bia river.

ma Hroai. as guardian of Helen Maria Hrosi. minor
child and sole heir at law of Otto Brosi. deceased,

private sale, on the premises in said county of
Hd River and state of Oregon, on the following
terms and conditions: The sale to be made of the
minor's interest in aad land and to be of the
entire tract therein doribed. but subject, how
ever, to the widows s dower interest in said land,
at a price of not l'ss than two thousand dollars
t$LiM) for said minor's interest, to be paid, not
less than seven hundrvd dollars $00 1 in cash, of
which two hundred (j.YM'i shall be paid to said
guardian in rash on the dy of the sale, and the
balance of which cash payment to be made upon
the confirmation of said sale by this Court and
administrator's doed and abstract of title fur
nished, to be paid f.tr said estate, the balance to
be paid on or before three (;Jt years, to be evi
dence) by a promissory note of date of the order
of Confirmation of sale, made payable to said
guardian, with interest at eight per cent per an
num, payable anntiaUy, said note to be secured by
first mortgage on said premises, also executed by
the purchaser in favor of caid guardian.
The premises to be ao'd. as described in said
order, are as follows: "Beginning at a point
eighty roads west of the southeast corner of sec
tion seventeen, township two north of range ten
eaut of the Willamette Meridian; th nee running
north forty puis, thence west sixty rods, thence
south forty pls, thence east sixty rods to the
place of bevmning. containing fifteen aens of
land, subject to an easement in favor of H. A.
Hackett, his heirs and assigns, of the right to use
and maintain the present irrigahion ditch, run
ning north through tJie above described land, and
which saul land Ott'' Brosi. aforesaid, acquired
bv warranty deed fr- m H. A Hackett and Emma

duly acknowledged and recorded in deed records

reference no which is hereby made, and the same
