Enjoy a summer evening strolling through downtown, popping in and out of galleries, chatting with artists and checking out their art, savoring refreshments and cooling off. (Some locations open and closer earlier and later.) ‘Nothing Square,” fabric art by Janet Hutchings at Tempo Gallery. 9 1. The Art Loft 106 Third St. Bas-relief sculpture created from slate, wall-hanging ceramics and floral watercolors await visitors 1 to 4 p.m. Meet artists Rick and Mary Wadman, and Vicky Sullivan while enjoying the artwork and refreshments. Get your picture taken with a mermaid or dress up as a mermaid yourself! Pictures are free but donations are happily accepted, and all proceeds go to a good friend needing financial help with her battle against cancer. We’ll also be raffling off a number of locally made gifts. 2. WineKraft 7. RiverSea Gallery 1160 Commercial St. Grand Visions is an exhibition of oil paintings, drawings and drypoint engravings by Mark Larson. Inspired by travel to Italy, he mixes surreal images of nature and Italian architecture to reflect on our relationship to the environment. In the Alcove, artist Karen Story delivers a show exploring figure and landscape in a mix of acrylic and collage influenced by her travels to Borneo and the Pacific Northwest. Continued on Page 16
