The National Associa- tion of Music Merchants (NAMM) recently honored Uptown Music with the Milestone Award for 25 years of service in the music prod- ucts industry. The award rec- ognizes music businesses that have succeeded over the years through best practices and strong community standing to reach a landmark anniversary. “This is such an honor and we are so grateful to be part of a supportive community,” said Paul Elliott, owner of Uptown Music. Uptown was founded in 1991 by Jim and Sylvia Nardi. The store expanded to meet the needs of the community over the next 14 years and has been at its current location for the last 11 years. “NAMM is proud to rec- ognize Uptown Music for their 25 years of service to their community, staff and to the music and sound products industry,” said Joe Lamond, NAMM president and CEO. “Their hard work and will- ingness to adapt, as well as their commitment to mak- ing this world a more musical place, have helped them stand the test of time and will be the driver of their future success.” Milestone Awards are pre- sented to longtime industry leaders during the NAMM Show in Anaheim, Calif.
