Heroes in Homecare Five homecare workers in our union are doing a brand new job. For the next four months they are participating in an exciting program sponsored by our International union. It’s called 2004 Heroes and their primary focus has been visiting with homecare work ers throughout the state talking about the upcoming presidential election. I also love,to share why I support John Kerry in his race for President.' I believe he will be the best choice for working families in America, and especially homecare workers.” Gus Cole, Astoria “The Heroes program asks for an enormous commitment of time. The satisfaction of helping union families achieve a better life is an equally enormous reward.” . Anita Pekoff, Bend “I am excited about being involved with the Heroes Program because it affords me the oppor tunity to work in politics at a grassroots level through my union, Local 503 and my co-workerg in homecare.
