C -E .T.A . NEW S By : M a ry Lane The Siletz CETA Program serves American Indians living in Lincoln, Benton, Tillamook and Clatsop counties. Residents of Lincoln and Benton counties should contact us directly for services. „ The Siletz Employment Counselor, Mary Lane, recently completed setting up a CETA Outreach procedure in Clatsop and Tillamook counties for American Indians. Unemployed American Indians living in Clatsop and Tillamook counties, who are interested in CETA subsidized employment, are encouraged to follow this procedure. 1. Go to the regular CETA office in Tillamook or Astoria, and fill out an application for CETA. (address given below) 2. IDENTIFY YOURSELF to the CETA staff in those offices as a member of the CONFEDERATED TRIBES OF SILETZ. 3. Ask the CETA staff person to contact the Siletz CETA PROGRAM (444-2536) regarding your application. We have been concerned about the possibility of American Indians making long, expensive >. trips to Siletz for CETA assistance, only to discover that they are either not CETA eligible, (according to Federal regulation), or that funds are not available at this time through our Program for the services you need. Contacts have been made with your , local CETA Programs, so that you have the convenience of applying for CETA near your residence, while still being in contact with the Siletz CETA Program. In addition, local programs sometimes have available funding for various activities when we do not. By applying locally, identifying yourself as a American Indian and asking your local CETA staff person to contact me, we can work with the resources of both programs to best meet your individual needs. By:TERRY FISHER The Housing review staff would like to report there is very limited housing dollars for FY 81. The following in a breakdown: Administrative Costs: $1915.00 Category "A" $982.00 Category "B" $989.61 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Shirley Strickler our Enrollment Staff Person has returned to work part-time this past week (6—8). Shirley has been out of the office due to and injury for the past month. We are happy to have Shirley back in the office with us again. She would like to thank everyone for flowers and cards she received while in the hospital. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Nancy Simmons started back to work on 5-26 as the Enrollment Staff's Assistant. Nancy has been working very hard to keep up with the enrollment procedure since she returned. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Rose Hudson would like to thank everyone for the cards and prayers she received while in the hospital in May. Rose is home now recooperating from surgury.
