Formerly known as "the Siletz Cemetery". The burial ground was renamed to honor Paul Washington after he was killed in France during World War I. P.F.C. Washington, son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Washington, died September 28, 1918. A double funeral was held May 24, 1919 for Paul and his brother Andrew after the latter died of Tuberculosis in Denver, Co. as he was returning from the war. Reported in the May 30, 1919 Lincoln County Leader as "the largest funeral ever held in Siletz," S E R V IC E S W hen: M ay 25 W h e r e : P au l W a s h in g to n C e m e t e r y T im e : 11:30 a .m . ■ , The Third Annual Memorial Day Services will be hosted this year by the Siletz, Springfield and Salem Johnson O'Malley program. This will be the first year that the Springfield and Salem JOM have assisted with the event. With thier assistance we will also be honoring the Riverside Cemetery along with the services at the Paul Washington Cemetery this year. We will be honoring the War Veterans and many other loved ones that have gone on before us. There will be a wreath presentations at the cemetery, one will be presented to the family members of Paul Washington. Pauline Ricks will receive a wreath for the Veterans who are buried at the Riverside Cemetery. She will then be placing the wreath at the Riverside Cemetery grounds. There will be a moment of silence to honor all veterans and loved ones who have gone on before us. The Confederated Tribes of Siletz will sponsor a ham and turkey dinner with all the trimmings. The dinner will be hosted by the Siletz and Springfield Johnson O'Malley programs. ***DESSERT AND SALAD WILL BE POT LUCK*** "WE HOPE THAT YOU WILL SPEND YOUR MEMORIAL DAY WITH US. IT WILL BE A GOOD CHANCE TO VISIT FRIENDS AND RELATIVES WHO YOU HAVEN'T SEEN FOR A LONG TIME. I
