S P R IN G F IE L D - E U G E N E NEW S The Springfield-Eugene Office has five (5) garden plots in the Springfield area. These are issued under the S.T.O.W.W. guidelines. JO H N SO N O i M ALLEY NEW S B y : C a r o lin e E a s t e r March 27, 1981 the Springfield-Eugene J.O.M. was invited to dance at the 1981 AIAW Divison I National Basketball Championship, at McCarther Court in Eugene. J.O.M. students were JoJo McKnight, Angeline Easier, Eddie Attabury. Tribal Members Pauline Ricks, Issac Easter, Melvin McKnight also Jason Olmen and Randy Ricks. The drumers were Clarice McKnight, Caroline Easter, Judy Wahwassuck, Carleen Easter. They danced before a crowd of 5,500 and recieved a standing ovation from the audience . The March 25th field trip to the Oregon coast was a great sucess for the students attending. The March 26th skating party a Skate World in Springfield had a good turn out also. C .K R NEW S A blood pressure clinic was held on March 18th at the Springfield Office. We had a good turn out and we are planning another clinic, for more infor mation please call Alice Werth 746-9658. T R IB A L NEW S Theodore (Ted) A. Werth, is the son of Alice Werth of Springfield. Ted made the Dean's List with a G.P.A. 3.65, majoring in Industrial Management at the Oregon Institute of Technology at Klamath Falls, Oregon. Mae Bostwick a Tribal member of Salem was in Salem Memorial and had surgery recently. She should be released sometime this week. There will be a Memorial Day Service again this year at the Paul Washington Cemetery on May 25th. A Pot Luck dinner will follow the Services. If you are interested in assisting with the Pot Luck dinner contact Sharon Butler, Siletz Area Office Phone; 444-2536. SPORTS NEW S Basketball tournament at Chiloquin, o r . April 3,4,5. Friday the Siletz team played against the Sprague River Ducks they lost that game. Saturday's game against Chiloquin Die-Hards the Siletz team won 72-81. Sunday's game against The Oregon Travelers 79-58 Siletz lost.
