In the first quarter C o a c h Cal Pace's crew kicked to Del Norte's 30, and It was returned to the 43. Eight plays later they lost the ball on downs on the 25 yard line. Brookings drove down to the Del Norte 15 where they were held on downs. Del Norte was forced to kick on 4th down on their own 22 yard Jlne. Brookings returned the kick from the 50 to the 40. On 1st down the drove to the Del Norte 32 as the quarter ended. SECOND QUARTER With Gardner, Arnett and Bard well taking turns they drove to the 3 yard line where Harold Gardner went over for the T.D. The kick for the P .A. T. wasjust below the Cross bar. B rokings kicked to Del Norte 35, and It was returned to the 40. One end run of 20 yards and several short gains put the ball on the Brookings 5 yd. line where Bob Suiter went over for the score with only 30 seconds left In the first half. The third and fourth quarter were defensive battles, w ith Del Norte threatening once but held on downs. The Brookings squad will play Its last J. Rotogravue an« Offset Lithography are the two printing techniques used. After the movie, Bud Pisarek, demonstrated some oil painting sk ills. He used an oil on cardboard technique and emphasised the value of using sketches as an aid to compositional problems. Refreshments were served by a committee. The next meeting will be held Friday, October 11 at 8 p .m . when the group will engage In watercolor and o i l painting. Any person Interested In joining the art group is urged to attend. The Pelican Bay Arts Group viewed a movie about painting and printing last Friday evening at their Art Center building. The Movie, produced by the Ford Motor Company, Illustra ted how the company's Ford Times magazine Is produced. The first part of the movie showed Rex Brandt, California artist, painting a scene, in watercolor, on the spot. Inter esting painting and sketching techniques were.shown. The second part of the movit had to do with the actual p r o SPECIAL ROCK PROGRAM TO BE PUT ON FOR SCOUTS A special program will be p re sented to the Brookings B o y Scouts at 7:30 p .m . In the VFW hall, on Thursday, October 17, bythe members of the Mt. Emllj Gem and Mineral club. October has been designated as Geology month by the Boy Scouts of America N a t i o n a l Headquarters, and the local min eral club is giving the project its support and service.
