Cham ber to M eet in A nnual A w ard Night The annual Cham ber of Com m erce dinner will be held at the G range H all in H arbor n e x t W ednesday night, January “ • ‘ 7 p.m. The “Man and Woman of the Y ear” selections w ill be a n nounced at th a t meeting. A new president, P aul Fauerso, w ill ta k e the reigns of the Brook- ings-H arbor Cham bor of Com m erce at th a t meeting, succeeding C arl Y ahr, who has served during the past year. A speaker is planned for the evening, but the com m ittee have not received their acknowledge- m ent yet. The “ Man and Woman of the Y ear” selection is a mo m entous one, and will be the th in set so chosen in Brookings. O ther new officers to step in at the m eeting are H enry K err, vice president, an a Jack Hagen, trea, surer. Marge Cummins Gets a Lunker Marge Cum mins, fisherw om an ex trao rd in ary , beat her own steel head record F riday, w hen she pulled a 22 pound m ale steelhead out of the Sm ith River. Mrs. Cum m ins’ old record was caught al- I most on the same day. on Ja n u ary 14. 1950. ju st seven years ago, w hen she hooked a 21 pound, 1 h steelhead, which w as 39 inches long, and a 1 9 4 inch girth in the Chetco River. Mrs Cum m ins' Chetco R iver fish was entered in th e Field and S tream contest, and she won seventh prize in the W estern Rain bow trout open division. The new record b rea k er was 37>a inches long, had a 2 2 inch girth. She hooked w hile using a Mitchell spinning outfit, w ith 12 pound test leader, small hook and eggs. She got the fish in en tirely by herself, and had quite a tussle getting it in, but did not have any help at any time.
