ings-H arbor Cham bor of Com
m erce at th a t meeting, succeeding
C arl Y ahr, who has served during
the past year.
A speaker is planned for the
evening, but the com m ittee have
not received their acknowledge-
m ent yet. The “ Man and Woman
of the Y ear” selection is a mo
m entous one, and will be the th in
set so chosen in Brookings.

Marge Cum mins, fisherw om an

head record F riday, w hen she
pulled a 22 pound m ale steelhead
out of the Sm ith River. Mrs. Cum
m ins’ old record was caught al-
I most on the same day. on Ja n u ary
14. 1950. ju st seven years ago,
w hen she hooked a 21 pound, 1 h
steelhead, which w as 39 inches
long, and a 1 9 4 inch girth in the
Chetco River.

by herself, and had quite a tussle
getting it in, but did not have any
help at any time. It was reported
th at she w on’t tell just w here in
th e Sm ith she caught th e lunker,
so there is no need asking.
