Today, however, w ith the daily press, the radio, and air travel at our command, any c a n didate, no m a tte r how much he knows or believes, can tell it all to the en tire nation in a couple of weeks or in four at the most. T h at was the trouble w ith this cam paign. Both parties ran out of good ideas in the first few weeks and then in order to con tinue m aking the headlines, they had to s ta rt scraping the bottom of the barrel.
