Monday evening, the Curry County Min eralógica! Society was organized. U nder the tem porary c h a ir m anship of P aul C onnett, the ideas and aims of the proposed organization w ere explained. Mr. C onnett told of the y ears p re p aratio n and organization w ork which led up to the m eeting, and then called for nom ination of officers. F ran k k Schiska w as elected president,and Mrs. A. J. Russell, | secretary -treasu rer. The vice- presid en t’s chair was left v acant, hoping to fill th a t office from th e southern or n o rth ern p art of th e county. Several field trips w ere p la n ned, the first to Cape Blanco oni Sunday, Dec. 7. O th er field trip s w ere proposed to the Brookings- J H arb o r area, and by ch a rtered boat to the Agness area. It was em phasized th a t this w as a county wide organization, and members from Brookings. P o rt Orford, anda o th e r p a rts of th e county are equally w el come with m em bers from Gold Beach and vicinity.
