Announcing this message to, starting with, Curtin, Drain, Elkton, Yoncalla, Scottsburg, Oakland and surrounding rural areas. When mishaps occur, whether natural or unnatural, some folks get left high and dry, some don’t. Some run to the problem to offer their help to neighbors and even strangers. The difference in most all cases is preparedness. Do you want to secure your household for when something unexpected occurs? It’s hard to know what to be ready for, but this is the time to do some preliminary planning. Look around your home, property, pantry, and list what you need to sustain your household for an unknown period of time. Next, stock up in case the predicted 9.0 occurs or any disaster, weather or fire event or any calamity - world ending or not. Being alert to news, weather and crime/abduction news & information and knowing how to reach family members and neighbors is part of being prepared. More than a neighbor watch, let’s become Neighborhood Ready. Interested in forming a group for like minded preparedness, join us. Watch for future articles to, hopefully help folks be prepared and ready, maybe educate those looking to help themselves. The members are so pleased with how beautiful the flowers look even though they won’t be trailing down the sides of the baskets for awhile. We all enjoy the anticipation of when the flowers spill over the sides. The Yoncalla Beautification Committee will also be putting up our spring banners on May 11th. Our members are very grateful to all those who have donated to our organization and who have sponsored baskets. We are especially grateful this past month to the Yoncalla Chamber of Commerce for a sizable donation. We have no other source of funding other than donations and grants. If you would like to donate to The Yoncalla Beautification Project , contact the committee treasurer, Doris Bartlett, at 541-315-0608 or P.O. Box 936, Yoncalla, OR 97499.
