Dec. 18 Taco Lettuce and cheese Buttered corn Christmas cake Ice cream bar M ilk Tacos Corn chips Cole slaw Celery sticks Ice cream bars Choice of m ilk County commissioners and about IS fire districts in Clackamas County have made an agreement that may help builders of com m e r c ia l and p u b lic buildings The county and fire of ficials have agreed to let county building plan in spectors conduct plan reviews normally done by inspectors in the State Fire Marshal's office H owever, before the workload is switched to the county, the state must ap prove the proposal The agreements were made as part of the ap plication process for a par tia l exemption from the state law that requires the fire marshal review of plans C urrently builders of c o m m e rc ia l or p u b lic structures must submit plans to both county and state agencies for review The county looks for struc tural and code compliance, while the state examines plans for fire hazards and safety codes “ There is some duplica tio n th a t w o u ld be e lim in a te d ," said Dick Dopp, county development s e rvice s d ire c to r, His department includes the county plan reviewers " I t w ill be n e fit the b u ild e rs and the fire districts." he said, “ No longer w ill the public have to travel to Salem to take plans in and to answer questions ** If the change is approved, builders would save the cost of submitting a copy of its building plan to the state. Dopp also said fire districts would be able to p ro v id e m ore in p u t because reviews would be done closer to fire district offices, r i s In fact, it may allow b e tte r f ir e p ro te c tio n before the buildings are b u ilt." Dopp said.
