The county and fire of
ficials have agreed to let
county building plan in
spectors conduct plan
reviews normally done by
inspectors in the State Fire
Marshal's office
H owever, before the
workload is switched to the
county, the state must ap
prove the proposal
The agreements were
made as part of the ap
plication process for a par
tia l exemption from the
state law that requires the
fire marshal review of
plans
C urrently builders of
c o m m e rc ia l or p u b lic
structures must submit
plans to both county and
state agencies for review
The county looks for struc
tural and code compliance,
while the state examines
plans for fire hazards and
safety codes
