About 8 women met at the Barton school and made pads, bed jackets, hospital type gowns and other items that are useful to persons who are con fined to bed for a long period of time. These items will be kept in the Barton area and will be available to any family in the community who needs them. They are for any illness where the patient is confined to bed for a long while. They are not just for cancer patients. There are foot rests that would be useful for a broken leg or arm. If some family in the commun ity has need of any of these items, you can contact Mrs. Bill Ferrel or any other members of the Ex tension Unit. Mrs. Jean Miller was host for the Executive Board of the newly organized Chapter of the Estaca 279-6402 da Jaycettes, Friday morning, Nov. 8. Mrs. Lester Courtain is in charge of the community schoo' program for the month of Novem ber. Reports are that a new type of entertainment will be presented. She and her husband, the late Ed Brook came to this area in 1907. They purchased 20 acres of land on the Haughlum road, and raised their family. The oldest son, Jer ome, owned the place after his father's passing. They built a home on property where Mrs. Brooks and youngest son Albert lived for a number of years, moving to Port land later. Roy Brook now lives on the place, making three generations having lived in the same place. Mr. and Mrs. Charlds Wilken- son is having Mr. Wilkenson’s brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wilkenson of Depoe Bay, also their daughter Helen of Portland, as dinner guests on Sunday.
