SON GRADUATES Jim Samudlo, son ot Mr. and M rs. Rudy sam udlo, was re- cently graduated from Treasure V alley Community College. He com pleted a tw o.year course and has an A ssociate ot Science d egree. He plans to resum e studies at OSU in the fall. NEW GRANDPARENTS Harold and Anona Robinson became proud grandparents for the fourth tim e last week when a boy, named Alexander, was born to their daughter and hus. band. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walker of El Monte, ca lif. FROM BEAVERTON Jon and Marilyn McWilliams, and daughter Laura, of B eaver, ton, spent two days last w e e k with his parents, John and Na dine McWilliams. WEDNESDAY BRIDGE The Wednesday Bridge Club MARRIED In C orvallis at 2 p.m . June 9, were Kathryn Saari and Marvin House. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl E. Saari of C orvallis, and the groom is the son of Mrs. Lola House of Port orford. The ceremony was held at the home of the bride’s parents. IN HOSPITAL Word has been received from Mrs. Sue Ramey that her hus band, Albert, Is now in J o se phine General Hospital in Grants P ass. They are form er r e s i dents here and she was famous for the p ies she made at Bart lett’s Cafe. Mr. Ramey would like to hear from old friends. COUSIN VISITS Mrs. Irene Kirby entertained at lunch last Thursday her co u s in, Mrs. Gladys Konick of Brookings, and her daughter, Mrs. Joan Jackson and friend, Mrs. Esther Briggs of Spring- field , Va. Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Briggs had participated In a bowling tournament at Las Vegas before coming here. OLD FRIEND VISITS Mr. and Mrs. Ed Maloy had a pleasant surprise last week when an old friend, Edna Ernst, and her s is te r , came by for a v isit. A s a young woman, M rs. Ernst worked where Mil dred Paulman (Maloy) worked before her m arriage, and at tended the Maloy wedding 58 years ago In San Diego. They have kept In touch, but had not seen each other In 30 years. Mrs. Ernst and her s i s ter, both of LaMesa, C alif., have taken many vacations to gether and thought perhaps this would be their last extensive trip. The women, 80 and 81 years of age, were planning to drive through Canada and parts of the states for s e v . eral months. The Maloys were happy that their itinerary brought coast. OUT OF HOSPITAL Marjorie Fisher of S ixes spent a week at McAuley Hospital with a sev ere throat Infection. She was released June 7 to recuperate at home, but she Is still under doctor’s care. ZASTERA GUESTS Recent v isito rs at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed za ste ra were Mr. and Mrs. Clem Rotha of P ro sser , Wash. They had met at Lukevllle, A ria., where both couples were vacationing at the organ Pipe National Mon ument, then had traveled to gether to Nogales and Tomb stone where they spent three more w eeks before the Zas- teras left for other points of in terest. The Washington coup le were on their way to Half Moon Bay, C alif., on account of illn e ss in their fam ily, and stayed overnight with the Zas- teras.
