Illinois Valley News, Cave Junction, OR Wednesday, May 21, 2003 LEGAL NOTICE THREE RIVERS SCHOOL DISTRICT 2003 RE-ROOFING PROJECTS SECTION 00030 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed bids for the 2003 Three Rivers School District Re-Roofing Projects will be received by Mr. Lloyd Russell, at 126 Ringuette, Grants Pass, OR. 97527, until 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2003, and there- after publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. Bids received after the time fixed for opening will not be accepted. The project consists of a base bid to re-roof portions of Evergreen Elementary School with add bids for re- roofing the bus barn at Evergreen Elementary and portions of Applegate and Williams Schools. All re- roofing work must be completed by August 29, 2003. A mandatory pre-bid meeting for prospective bid- ders, sheet metal subcontractors, and suppliers who wish to submit their materials as alternate to those specified, will be held at Three Rivers School District, 126 Ringuette, Grants Pass, Oregon. Attendees are required to meet at the Maintenance Building, on Thursday, May 22, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. An advance notice of 48 hours prior to the pre-bid conference is required to reserve document plans by calling Schaber and Associates, Inc. at (800) 655- 8921. Bidding documents will be available at the pre- bid conference and may be obtained only by those prospective bidders who called to reserve, upon re- ceipt of cash or check in the amount of $75.00, made payable to Schaber and Associates, Inc. Deposits made upon procurement of the bidding documents will be refunded upon the retu rn thereof, in good condition, within ten (10) days after the opening of the bids. Refunds will only be made to those firms who submit a bid for this project. No bid will be considered unless fully completed in the manner provided in the Instructions to Bidders in the proposal form provided by Schaber and Associ- ates, Inc. The bid is to be accompanied by a bid se- curity in the form of a bid bond issued by a surety company acceptable to the school district or a certi- fied check or cashier’s check in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid, made payable to Three Rivers School District. The bid security will be forfeited as fixed and liquidated damages should the bidder neglect or refuse to enter into a contract and provide suitable bonds for the faithful performance of the work in the event the contract is awarded him. All bidders shall comply with the applicable provisions of ORS 279.348 to 279.380 of the Oregon Revised Statues pertaining to the payment of wages which are not less than the prevailing wage rates. Three Rivers School District may reject any bid not in compliance with all prescribed public bidding proce- dures and requirements, and may reject for good cause any or all bids upon a finding by Three Rivers School District that it is in the public interest to do so. No bidder may withdraw or modify his bid after the date and hour set for the opening thereof or before award of a contract, unless such award is delayed for a period exceeding forty-five (45) days from the bid opening date. Reciprocal Preference: In determining the “lowest responsible bidder,” Three Rivers School District will add a percent increase to each out-of-state bidder’s bid price which is equal to the percent given to local bidder’ home state. For example, if the “lowest re- sponsible bidder” is from a state that grants a 10 per- cent preference to local bidders, Three Rivers School District will add 10 percent to that bidders price when evaluating the bid. The fee is one-tenth of one percent of the price of this contract, but not less than $100 nor more than $5,000 regardless of the contract price. A bid must include a statement on whether or not the bidder is a “resident bidder” as defined in ORS 279.029. The proposed Page 15 LEGAL NOTICE continued Anderson West Project is located on BLM ad- ministered lands ap- proximately 17 miles southwest of Grants Pass. This project is part of the implementa- tion of the District’s Re- source Management Plan. The proposed alternatives include: (1) commercial thinning, group selection and structural retention tim- ber harvesting on ap- proximately 680 acres, (2) hazard reduction/ controlled burning on 1,500 acres, (3) work on a recreational trail, (4) wildlife habitat en- hancement burning on 250 acres, (5) decom- missioning approxi- mately .78 miles of road and (6) road mainte- nance. The proposal also addresses grazing use of part of the pro- ject area. The EA ad- dresses the environ- mental effects of these proposed actions. The EA will be available for review and comment for 30 calendar days from the date of the publication of this notice in the Grants Pass Daily Courier. The principal was noti- fied. *An anonymous caller said three peo- ple on dirt bikes were tearing up the grass and trees at the Sunny Brook Trailer Park on Laurel Road at 7:12 p.m. * Wi l l i a m H. Veader, 49, was ar- rested on a warrant at 8:59 p.m. in the 700 block of Caves Hwy. *It was noted that a man in the 400 block of Queen of Bronze Road fired his shotgun at the ground in a safe manner three times to scare away people trespass- ing on his land after verbally warning them at 9:31 p.m. Sunday, May 11 *Items valued at between $150 and $200 were missing from a man’s tackle box at Lake Selmac. *In the 1000 block of Crooks Creek Road a mail- box valued at $200 was damaged by a reckless driver. Monday, May 12 *A woman in the 300 block of Old Stage Road said someone was listen- ing in on her phone calls and that some- one was possibly liv- ing in her attic. She was advised to call 911 if anyone came into her house. *In the 500 block of Schumacher Street a woman wanted to file a stalking order complaint. *Several items including $100 were taken from a vehicle parked behind Cross- roads Animal Hospi- tal and Pet Supply. *Two screen doors, two interior doors, a propane stove and some other items were reported missing from a rental unit in the 100 block of O’Brien Road. *A new property owner in the 200 block of Forest Creek Road believed a ten- ant on her land was trespassing. She was advised of landlord and tenant issues by police. *Officers re- sponded to a property line dispute in the 11000 block of Takilma Road. *A deputy talked with two men at Jubi- lee Park after getting a complaint of a dis- turbance at 6:29 p.m. *A resident said someone was tres- passing on a four- wheel dirt bike in the Holland Loop Area. *Following a report that an elderly woman had been missing for more than two hours in the 1700 block of Boundary Lane she was found sitting in mud on the property. Tuesday, May 13 *Someone in a car was driving at a high rate of speed and screeching the car’s tires in the 100 block of S. Kerby Avenue. *A resident in the 400 block of Queen Bronze Road said his neighbors were honk- ing their horn and shouting profanities at him. A deputy ad- vised each of the resi- dents on the impor- tance of go od neighborly conduct. *Two men dumped out their beers at Jubilee Park in lieu of getting a ticket. *A man com- plained that he was being harassed by another man in the 1500 block of Hamil- ton Lane. * * * It was reported in the May, 14 issue of the ‘Illinois Valley News’ that Sarah Ann Adams, 16, was cited and released on a charge of third- degree theft.
