CHINOOK WINDS CASINO RESORT Coastal Carvers Return for 15th Annual Show The 15th Annual Coastal Carvers Show and Sale will be held at Chinook Winds on Jan. 19-20. This free art show will house dozens of fine wood carvers with their work on display for enjoyment and purchase. Demonstrations for children and adult carvers will teach the aspiring artists as well as lovers of the art. For those interested in taking up carving or replenishing their carving tool sets, supplies will be available for sale also. In 2006, Kershaw hit the radio and country music scenes with Tennessee Girl and Baby’s Got Her Blue Jeans On, showing his continued popularity in today’s country music. Often referred to as the “heir ap parent” to the legendary George Jones, Kershaw helped make the ’90s a shin ing decade for country music. His plati num albums were propelled into the records books by such hits as She Don t Know She’s Beautiful. National Work ing Woman s Holiday, Love Of My Life, Cadillac Style, Don t Go Near The Water, Haunted Heart and many others. From the moment they formed, High way lOl presented a new approach to country music. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 19 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 20. Kick Off 2008 with Laughs at Comedy on the Coast Sammy Kershaw Somewhere Tonight, Cry, Cry, Cry, Who s Lonely Now, and Honky Tank Baby. Show time is 8 p.m. Tickets range from $2O-$25. Start off 2008 laughing when the always funny Gerry Bednob returns to Comedy on the Coast on Jan. 25-26 at Chinook Winds. Comedy on the Coast audiences will walk away wondering what hit them. For only $15, guests can spend the evening with three of the funniest men in the business of making people laugh. Gerry Bednob, Art Krug and Kenny Rinker Returns to Appraise Treasures Harry Rinker, formerly HGTV’s Collector Inspector and a renowned antique specialist, is returning for Lin coln City’s Antique Week on Feb. 9-10. Now host of a syndicated radio talk show called Watcha Got?, Rinker can be heard nationwide. In Oregon, Watcha Got? can be heard in Lincoln City, Baker City, Newport. LaGrande and Eugene on various AM stations. Along with other local appear ances, Rinker will lecture and hold verbal appraisal clinics at the Oregon Coast Antique and Collectible Show on Feb. 9 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Feb. 10 from noon to 3 p.m., in the Chinook Winds convention center. Those with an eye for antiques will enjoy shopping the dozens of vendors. There is no ad mission fee to watch the appraise-athon and all ages are welcome. One of Antique Week’s highlights is the Appraise-athon. Having items appraised can help with estate planning or deciding whether to keep or sell an heirloom. Have an item appraised or just come see what Rinker has to say about collectibles. For a fee. he will profes sionally appraise up to three items. Gerry Bednob has not only been a standup comedian for years, but also has been seen in such films as Death Becomes Her. Encino Man, and 40 Year Old Virgin, and guest star appear ances on TV shows like Seinfeld, Won der Years and Mad About You. Joan Rivers said she thought she had heard it all until she heard the ef fervescent Bednob. A preacher's son from Oregon. Art Krug has the calm exterior of the guy next door who always seemed so nor mal. But on stage he's a boiling comic spirit with a unique voice that has placed him among the top comedians in the Northwest. Krug has toured the United States and Canada for 18 years and appeared on Showtime's Comedy Club. Kenny Kane draws from his back ground as a black belt, hip hop dancer, soccer player and track athlete to craft a high energy, physical comedy show. He has won the favor of many influ ential professionals in the business. Kane performs regularly in Las Vegas and tours the United States, mak ing crowds laugh until they're out of breath.
