Tribal Chairman Delores Pigsley cut the ribbon to com- memorate the occasion. Also in attendance were Tribal Council members Bud Lane, Frank Simmons and Jessie Davis, and Gen eral Manager Jim Kikumoto. The open ing was enjoyed by Elite members and guests. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and dessert were plentiful during the event. In addition to the remodel of the Elite Room and High Stakes Gaming section, the Player Services area also has been renovated to be more accom modating to guests of the resort. Players now can go to one area to purchase show tickets, redeem points for cash or gifts, and sign up for one of the many giveaways going on at the casino. “The goal of our improvements is to bring customer service to a higher level,” said Kikumoto. Play in the $40,000 BlackjackTourney Chinook Winds will host the sec ond 2007 two-day $40,000 Blackjack Tournament on Oct. 5-7. The $200 buy-in includes tourna ment entry, admission to the welcom ing party on Oct. 5, and access to a reduced hotel rate. An additional $50 buy-in per player for the two-player team competition is optional. The event will be held in the con vention center. The $40,000 prize pool is based on 168 participants, so call Player Services at 1 -888-244-6665 now to be included. 18 • Siletz News • The excitement will continue with renovations in the Suites Building at the hotel and the final stages of approval for the expansion of the resort's 18-hole golf course. The Brick House of singing sensa tions is coming to Lincoln City this month when The Commodores per form live on Oct. 26-27. They will be singing old favorites like Lady (You Bring Me Up), Three Times a Lady and Brick House. Through the years, The Commo dores have delivered hit after hit while hold ing true to their music. After original lead singer Lionel Richie left in 1983, original co-lead vocalist Walter “Clyde” Orange, along with original band member William “WAK” King, inter viewed more than 50 vocalists to find the perfect match for the group. In 1984, James Dean “J.D.” Nicho las joined The Commodores and shortly after in 1986 the group won a Grammy for the song Night Shift. The group hasn't relied on its early hits. Instead, it has continued to put out quality work.
