CHINOOK WINDS CASINO RESORT Kenny Bob Davis Comedy on the Coast Brings in Classic Stand-Up Comedy on the Coast is in its third year of showcasing professional stand up comedians from Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York City, and all over America. On Sept. 2-3, all three comedians - Kenny Bob Davis, Joe Restivo, and Tim Haldeman - have performed at Chinook Winds at least once a year since the in ception of this popular comedy series. Kenny Bob Davis is well acquainted with Oregon audiences. He recently opened for Larry Gatlin at the Lincoln County Fair and was the producer of the first Pa cific Northwest Comedy Competition. Davis started his career in show busi ness as a guitar-playing folk-singer in the ‘60s. In 1978, thanks to Eddie Rabbitt, he started a new phase of his career by becoming an opening-act comedian. Since then, he has opened for Kenny Rogers, Alabama, and Gatlin. Davis’ tele vision and movie credits include, ER, Mad TV, Gremlins, and Murder She Wrote. Whether you know it or not. you have probably seen Tim Haldeman. The ac- tor/stand-up comic has performed in more than 100 television shows and movies. Among his many credits are appear ances on House, The West Wing, Malcolm In The Middle, ER, The Drew Carey Show, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, and Third Rock From The Sun. Over the last decade, Haldeman has developed a stand-up routine that he has performed across the country, including at The Sahara in Las Vegas and at the Atlantis Hotel in Atlantic City. Joe Restivo began his comedy career writing for Rodney Dangerfield, Freddie Prinze, and Joan Rivers. He later pursued a career as a stand-up comedian, opening for such entertainers as Rogers, Gladys Knight, and Pat Benatar. Restivo has been a guest star on more than 100 network television productions, including Seinfeld, NYPD Blue, Tales From The Crypt, Hill St. Blues, and Hooperman. He currently produces, writes, and stars on his own bi-weekly radio show Vinny Goes To The Movies, syndicated by The American Comedy Network. Hotel Golf Course Surf City, a Celebration of Classic Cars, Returns to Chinook Winds From current PT Cruisers to classic Corvettes, Hot Rods, and Fords, Surf City showcases classic cars on Sept. 23-25. The three-day car and truck show will feature different vehicles each day. PT Cruisers and trucks will be on display in the parking lot Sept. 23. On Sept. 24, stroll around the classic cars on display. Then on Sept. 25, Cor vettes take the spotlight. Car owners in all qualifying catego ries are invited to attend and display their cars any of the days of the event. All registration proceeds will help support Angels Anonymous, a local non-profit organization created to assist local resi dents with basic immediate needs. The judging of PT Cruisers and trucks will take place Sept. 23. Classic Cars will be judged Sept. 24. Winners in the Cor vette category will be determined Sept. 25. A total of $5,000 in cash and prizes will be given away throughout the weekend. Featured in the showroom during Surf City will be Neil Sedaka. It's hard to imagine the history of rock-‘n’-roll without his many contributions. For more than four decades, Sedaka's timeless standards have helped change the face of popular music with hits like The Diary, Oh, Carol, Calendar Girl, Little Devil, Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen, Next Door To An Angel, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, and Laughter In The Rain. Show time is 8 p.m. each night. Tick ets range from $20 to $40.
