TRIBAL MEMBER NEWS Graduates! Aaron McCord Aaron McCord graduated June 10, 2005, from Umpqua Community Col lege in Roseburg Ore., with a degree in emergency medi cine - paramedic. Aaron lives in Medford with his wife and two chil dren. He has trav eled to Roseburg two or three times a week for the last two years to pursue his goal. His commit ment has earned him top honors in the paramedic program, as well as placement on the President’s Honor Roll. “Support from family and friends has been the key to my success,” Aaron admits. “I would like to thank my parents, Aaron McCord Mike and Larri Pow- ers, and Chief Bill Sharp, who have all helped me in their own ways.” Aaron’s parents are Chuck and Kathy Sallander of Brookings, Ore., and Dave McCord of Ward Cove, Alaska. Aaron started his career when he became a volunteer firefighter for Brookings Fire & Rescue in 1992. He continues his volunteer service with Phoenix Fire and Rescue in Phoenix, Ore. Future career goals include working as a paramedic and later entering the physician’s assistant program in Washington. Aaron, who is a descendent of the Chetco Indians, received scholarships and grants from the Siletz Tribe. We are so happy you finished. by Dad and Mom Congratulations, Nellie! Nellie graduated June 15,2005, from Madison Middle School in Eugene, Ore. She received certificates for Honor Roll all three years (3.7 or above), Excellent Work in Pop Art, and the President’s Award for Educational Achievement for Outstanding Academic Achievement. Nellie will attend North Eugene High School in 2005/2006 and is enrolled in its International High School. We are very proud of you. Love is in the Air “Hot for each other” Delores Riding In and Ken Blacketer Jr. ec statically announce their engagement. They will marry Oct. 16, 2005, in Portland, Ore. It’s the third, and fi nal, marriage for both. Korisa Kessinger Love always, Mom and Dad Korisa Kessinger graduated from North Salem High School on June 10, 2005. She successfully completed a 4.0 GPA throughout her senior year. We would like to congratulate you, Korisa, for a job well done! On Sept. 19,2005, Korisa will attend the College of Hair Design in Salem, Ore. Like always, good luck and have fun with your next goal. Healy Baby Due Next Year Jenera and Daniel Healy are expect ing their first baby Feb. 22, 2006. Grandparents-to-be are Cindy and Carl Jackson of Salem, Ore. Great-grandparents-to-be are Donna and Warren Woods of Otis, Ore. Cheney, Steve, and Ella Chrisman Chrisman Gets Real Estate License Love, your family Shannon, Cheney, and Ella Chrisman would like to announce that Steve Chrisman recently graduated from real estate school. He completed an extensive training course June 18,2005, and is now a licensed Oregon real estate agent. He currently is employed with Advantage Coastal Real Estate in Newport, Ore.
