CHINOOK WINDS CASINO RESORT All Female Group Comes to Comedy on the Coast What helps chase away those win ter blahs? Laughter! Comedy on the Coast at Chinook Winds Casino Resort, on Feb. 25-26, provides three top-name professional stand-up comedians to fill the chuckles prescription - Susan Rice, Colleen Crabtree, and Diane Nichols. Susan Rice, a Pacific Northwest native, began her comedy career in col lege. Her love of performing arts began in San Diego, then grew in Portland, Ore., where she worked in banking and pursued a career in acting. Rice discovered comedy in a little pub called the The Leaky Roof Tavern and from the moment she stepped on stage, she knew she had found her career. For 15 years, she has been a pro fessional stand-up comedian. Television appearances include An Evening at the Improv and Comedy Central. Comedy clubs include Catch a Rising Star, The Ice House, The Laff Stop, The Improve, and The Laugh Factory. Originally from Portland, Colleen Crabtree is an alum of The Ground ling’s Sunday Company and has per formed stand-up all over Oregon, the San Francisco Bay area, Reno, Los Angeles, and New Zealand. Along with being a top finisher at last year’s Pacific Northwest Comedy Competition, she was a semi-fmalist in Comedy Central’s Laugh Riots Com petition and a finalist in 2003’s California’s Funniest Female Contest. Diane Nichols has been perform ing stand-up since it became cool in the 1980s. She has appeared on both Tonight Shows, Politically Incorrect, Late Night with David Letterman, HBO’s Women of the Night, and too many comedy clubs, nationally and internationally, to mention. Comedy on the Coast begins at 8 p.m.; doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $ 12.
