No. 3 March 2005 Tribe Elects Three New Council Members 2005 Tribal Council: Lillie Butler; Robert Kentta; Loraine Y. Butler; Delores Pigsley, chairman; Reggie Butler Sr; Philip W Rilatos Sr., treasurer; JoAnn Miller, secretary; Alfred "Bud” Lane III, vice chair man; and David R. Hatch. Robert Kentta, Philip W. Rilatos Sr., and Loraine Y. Butler were elected to the Tribal Council of the Confeder ated Tribes of Siletz Indians in elections held Feb. 5. Kentta, from Logsden, Ore., was elected with 354 votes; Rilatos, from Waldport, Ore., received 287; and Butler, from Siletz, Ore., received 277. Sixteen candidates ran for the three open positions and the three who re ceived the most votes were elected. These individuals will serve with Reggie Butler Sr. of Siletz, Ore., David R. Hatch of Portland, Ore., and JoAnn Miller of Logsden, Ore., whose terms expire in 2006; and Lillie Butler of Siletz, Delores Pigsley of Salem, Ore., and Alfred “Bud” Lane III of Siletz, whose terms expire in 2007. Term of office is three years for each position on the nine-member council. The following Tribal Council mem bers were elected Feb. 6 to serve as officers for 2005: See Elections on page 7.
