San Diego State University’s De partment of Counseling and School Psychology and our Native American Scholars and Collaborators Project (NASCP) are currently accepting appli cations from Native American students keenly interested in preparing to serve today’s youth, work in Native commu nities, and make a difference in schools. We offer the opportunity to become involved in a highly competitive and diverse nationally recognized graduate program in school counseling or school psychology, with a specialization in Native American issues. NASCP ad dresses issues of colonization, decolonization, indigenous methodolo gies, identity, and their relationships to learning. This contest was created in honor of Sala Kryszek, a mother and wife who survived Auschwitz and numerous forced labor settings. After being liber ated at the end of World War II, she emigrated from Poland to Portland, where she lived until her death in 1986. OHRC provides educational out reach through a variety of programs, in cluding a survivors speaker’s bureau that reaches more than 30,000 students per year.
