It’s Happening at Chinook Winds in June Hodges NamedJFirst 2004 Superstar Sarah Hodges from the Food & Beverage Department was named the Superstar of the first quarter of 2004. She received a check for $ 1,000, a plaque, and a marble tile with her name engraved on it that will be displayed at the front of the casino. Sarah was nominated for going above and beyond the call of duty. Two women guests had missed their bus back to Eugene and Sarah went out of Sarah Hodges her way to ensure that these guests found a way home. She even offered to take them to Eugene. Then, she contacted a roommate to get Greyhound bus schedules so the guests could get home safe and sound. Both casino staff and casino guests can submit Superstar nominations. With more than 700 employees and only four of these awards given each year, it’s a real honor to be chosen as the Superstar. Congratulations, Sarah! JUNE On June 10-13, the laughter heard at Chinook Winds Casino and Convention Center just may be louder than the waves crashing on Lincoln City’s beaches. During those days, 32 invited up- and-coming comedians will do their best to woo the judges with their best stand-up material. Besides being known as the first winner of the Pacific North west Comedy Competition, they’ll also compete for $7,777 in cash prizes. The winners will be chosen from this last grouping and the cash prizes awarded. After three days of intense (and hilarious) competition, one comedian will stand on the stage, proud and victorious, as the first Pacific North west Comedy Competition champion.
