TRIBAL PROGRAM NEWS Siletz Tribe Donates $136,093 to Community Groups The Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund made another round of distributions at Chinook Winds Casino on Nov. 13. Thirty-two organizations shared $ 136,093.12 in contributions, including $35,000 to Siletz Valley School to repair the roof on two buildings and $9,029.50 to the Depoe Bay Fire Protection District for rope rescue equipment and training. The seven-member advisory board has distributed more than $761,000 since its inception in 2001. The Siletz Tribe is proud of its contributions through employment, monetary donations, and cooperative measures to the Siletz community and Lincoln County as a whole. The tribe has honored its tradition of sharing within the community by distributing more than $2.5 million through the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund and other tribal resources. Chinook Winds has donated more than $450,000 in cash and fund-raising items since it opened in 1995. The casino also provides in-kind donations of con vention space for various fund-raisers as well as technical support, advertis ing, and manpower for many events.
