It’s Happening at Chinook Winds in October -.. Join Halloween Party at Play Palace To give your child the fun of Halloween in a safe, secure, and fun environment, stop by Chinook Winds Child Care, The Play Palace, the evening of Oct. 29. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Play Palace is having a pre-Halloween party! The cost per child is $8.50, or $6.95 and two cans of food to be donated to the food bank, for four hours of fun. Games to be played include Halloween Twister, Balloon Grab, and Penny Toss. Play Palace Offers Craft Projects Here are the arts and craft projects scheduled for The Play Palace in November, December, and January. We’ll also have specials in the deli on the weekends. One additional entry per $10 spent playing Keno. Entries must be placed in the barrel located at the Keno lounge. Drawing: Oct. 31, 5:30 p.m., in the Keno lounge Stars and Stripes Forever, two free concerts honoring veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, will be held at Chinook Winds Casino on Veterans’ Day, Nov. 11. Get ready for a stirring tribute to those who have dedicated themselves to defend our country and the freedom we cherish, and fought so that others could be free from tyranny. Cake will be available in the lobby prior to the shows. Showroom doors open at 3:30 p.m. for the 4 p.m. concert and 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. concert. The Siletz Tribal Honor Guard will open the show with the presentation of the colors, followed by entertainment provided by the The Keller Coker Orchestra, with vocalists Mike Bartie, Bill Montague, and Jakki Ford. The shows include a tribute to the Andrews Sisters and actor Tom Hallick will give a reading that he originally performed with Charleton Heston as part of President Ronald Reagan’s inauguration. Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers have contributed a video featuring the patriotic song Stand Up And Thank Them Now, which Larry Gatlin says is a tribute for his veteran father and to all people who have served in the armed forces. Paul Revere and The Raiders also have given a video presentation to be played. The Kells Bagpipers, a 12-piece pipe and drum corps, will close the concerts. The shows are open to all ages. No tickets are required, it’s first-come, first-seated. OREGON Get a Babysitter and Call Your Girlfriends - The Men of Paradise Return The male Polynesian dancers of Runi Tafeaga’s “Men of Paradise” are set to perform at Chinook Winds Casino on Nov. 7. The “Men of Paradise” are from Tahiti, Samoa, and Hawaii. Several of them were featured on Baywatch Hawaii. The “Men of Paradise” will perform in the convention center for two shows on one night only. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show and at 9:30 p.m. for the 10 p.m. show. Tickets are $10. A no-host bar will be available and the shows are limited to individuals age 21 and over.
